Fire Prevention Month
SAFD firefighters were busy with Fire Prevention month this October. Several area preschools and daycares either had field trips to Station One or a visit from one of our engines. If you would like to get involved, any time of the year, please don't hesitate to contact us.

 Honorary St Andrew's Firefighters

SAFD welcomes four new honorary firefighters to our family.
Pinecrest Baptist Church's Pete Blanton, Earnest and Dot Campbell, and Nancy Faucette became our newest members on October 4th in appreciation for their undying commitment to our fire department through their kitchen ministry. These four fine people have provided us with homemade dinners to feed ten firefighters every Wednesday night for over two years free of charge. Thank you for everything.

Thanks

St Andrew's would like to thank Fazoli's on Sam Rittenberg for involving our firefighters in "Firemen's Night Out" the first Tuesday of every month.  Thank you for feeding our firefighters!!

Inaugural Reading Contest

SAFD's first year of the reading contest was a smashing success. Students from Drayton Hall, Ashley River Creative Arts, and St Andrew's Math and Science all read as many hours as they could during the month of September in order to win a ride to school in a fire engine during Fire Prevention Week in October. The students have yet to be presented with a photograph commemorating their win. Thank you to everyone who participated, you are the reason this contest was a success.  Congratulations to the following, who won a ride to school and read the most hours out of anyone in their grade in ALL THREE schools!
